Dr LANCE HURLEY
He graduated from the University of Texas with a Major in History and a Minor in Speech and Drama.
His direct ancestor was a drummer during the American Revo-lution.  This ancestor enlisted at and served under George  Washington at Valley Forge and the Battle of Yorktown.
Lance is also distantly related to George Washington.
He has been awarded the prestigious George Washington Honor Medal by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.
He served his country as a Marine Corps Captain with a specialty in intelligence and was offered an appointment as a Special Agent with the FBI upon completion of active duty.
He is a two-time  winner of the state of Arizona Toastmasters International Speech Contest.
He is an ordained minister and received his Doctorate from the Phoenix University of Theology.
At  the  Chapter meeting he will perform a recreation of that day during the 3rd week in March 1775 when the First Continental Congress met at the House of Burgesses in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
